MAPS

Rolling line is a level editor/map builder at heart, so there are many maps (both official and community made) you can view in the game.

Official maps are made by the developer and can be accessed when starting a new game.

Community-made maps are built by players and are shared on the Steam Workshop.

LOCOMOTIVES

The game contains a range of locomotives and rolling stock from various countries. The majority of the rolling stock is NZ based.

The majority of the vanilla rolling stock has custom livery support. Players can find templates to create their own custom paint schemes which can be used in-game and uploaded to the Steam Workshop for other players to enjoy.

Fully custom rolling stock can currently be added to the game with the quickMod system. This is a stop-gap modding system but is perfectly sufficient for the majority of rolling stock players may wish to create. This system allows players to create detailed models of any rolling stock, fictional or prototype, and easily import it into the game; quickMods can be found and uploaded to the workshop.

COMMUNITY

The Rolling Line community has steadily grown over the years and plays a massive role in the games popularity and continued activity. People in the community create maps, mods, liveries etc and take part in discussions and even large-scale group projects.

The community resides over several locations:

EVENTS

Gauge has introduced some competitions and jams throughout time to increase layout building activity by the community.
